πŸ‘‹ Intro

Future Quest is a community-based accelerator for high impact climate projects leveraging web3, gamification and science.

πŸ‘» Problem

There is a massive misalignment of financial and human resources when it comes to climate change. Estimates by the the UN, McKinsey and others indicate that $10 Trillion - $275 Trillion USD will need to be invested between now and 2050 to successfully tackle the interlinked climate, biodiversity, and land degradation crises. Many agree that a median number is about $1 Trillion per year.

This means that there is a huge gap that needs to be filled in order to make the necessary progress on climate change. Based on Trove Research report we can estimate that annual demand for carbon offsets may reach $500Bn by 2030 while expected supply, growing exponentially, is currently expected to reach $100Bn by then (only $2Bn last year), leaving a large gap to fill despite the growth.

Furthermore, a [recent report by the Environmental and Energy Study](https://www.eesi.org/papers/view/fact-sheet-climate-jobs#:~:text=In total%2C there were well, million climate jobs in 2020.) Institute found that only 0.05 percent of the global workforce is employed full-time in jobs that contribute directly to climate mitigation. This means that there is a huge untapped potential when it comes to mobilizing human resources to work on climate change.

🀝 Solution

Future Quest is creating an ecosystem that makes it easy, enjoyable and rewarding for people to take action on climate change and thus accelerate highly vetted, scalable projects.

⚑️ Opportunity

Our focus resides at a crossroads of several converging trends (web3, private climate investing, public adoption of man-made climate change theory, large funds committing to ESG, lower end of the broader cryptocurrency cycle, the great resignation and restructuring).

β€œThe number of [people] working in a climate-relevant industry is going to explode.” β€” The Atlantic / Credit Suisse Forecast, Oct 2022

Our research indicates the timing could not be better and we are uniquely suited to connect these emerging threads to build a large-scale building block of a solution to the global climate crisis.
